Construction for the French Romanesque style church began 1892 or 1893 to meet the needs of a quickly growing community that had long outgrown the original church built by Rev. Edward M. Smith, C.M. Construction was completed in 1897. The main altar, organ, and rose window were commissioned by Rev. Peter Byrne, C.M. between 1899 and 1909 and his successor, Rev. Francis Xavier McCabe, C.M., installed a marble altar and established a Day Nursery. St. Vincent's Church has been through many renovations, most recently in 2001. |
