Fest '99 all wet By Mark McCarrell Assistant News Editor As the rain poured, on the May 21 Fest, disappointment fell over DePaul's Lincoln Park campus."From what I hear, it's the first time in 15 years it has been rained out," Frank Conte, director of DePaul Activities Board, said. According to Conte, he, along with electricians, sound and light technicians and staff decided to cancel the Fest for safety reasons after the skies opened on the annual music festival. "We wanted to go as long as we could while it was safe," Conte said. The Fest did last for a few hours as Jamestown and Dr. Morg and Tha' 12 Legged Funk Machine played their sets to a crowd of a few dozen who braved the drenching rains. Despite the rainy forecast that loomed on the event all week, advanced sales were going well, Conte said. Refunds for tickets were given this week in the Programs and Organizations Office. Vouchers for food coupons purchased can be obtained from DePaul food service.
