This should be warning enough for anyone who has not had the chance to see the (Continued on page 3) SEE CENTER PAGES OF THIS ISSUE VOLUME XXXII—NUMBER 25 AxmenPresent Last Frat Bid DanceSaturday Alpha Chi fraternity once more presents its celebrated WOODCHOPPER'S BALLthe last fraternity bid dance of the year on May 1 and it promises to be one of the brightest spots on DePaul's social calender. Last year's dance was a huge success, as the throngs that attended report—and this year's should be even bigger and better, due to the fact that it marks the 40th anniversary of the Axmen's ball. The outcome of the brothers' decision as to who will reign as next year's Queen of Alpha Chi is annually observed by the whole student body and friends of the fraternity with great expectation for the emerging queen is often one of the loveliest and most charming candidates for title of Interfraternity queen of the following year. This year should be no exception, for the list of nominees for the regal honor of 1954 AX Queen is made up of some of the worthiest contestants for such a crown that we've seen for a long time. They are: Louise Arbos—Day Commerce Lorraine Rogers Evening Commerce Betty Ann Kiilorin Liberal Arts, and Fifi Kalfas-— Liberal Arts. Due to the success of last year's ball, Alpha Chi once again secured the Westward Ho Country Club, on Wolf Road, just north of North Avenue, as the site of the dance. Louis Esposito's band will .provide the music for the informal festivities, which will begin at 9:00 and continue until 1:00 a.m. The Co-Chairmen, Bob Griffin and Tony Quattroehi, paused in their preparations for the ball long enough to assure this reporter that they have spared no effort to make the dance worth every cent—and more-— of the S3.90 bid-price.
