Volume 38, No. 3 The college president will speak on "The Sky Is Not the Limit" at 10:00 a.m., tomorrow, October 10, in the DePaul Cen- ter Theatre. Present in the audience will be approximately 500 DePaul faculty members, principals of Chicago area high schools, and English professors from colleges and universities in the area. Wrote Autobiography Sister Madelva's autobiography, titled "My First Seventy Years," recently published by the Macmillan Co. The book, composed at the request of the publisher,, was written in two weeks. Born in Cumberland, Wisconsin, Sister Madelva holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin, St. Mary's College, University of Notre Dame, and the University of California. She did graduate work at Oxford University in England in 193334.Honorary Degrees She has been awarded honorary degrees from Manhattan College, Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, University of Notre Dame, Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart, Indiana University, Creighton University, and Marquette University. Sister Madelva has been the president of St. Mary's since 1934, and before that was president and dean of the College of Mary-of-the-Wasatch, Salt Lake City, for seven years. Her Best Works Recognized as an outstanding poet and writer, her best known works are Collected Poems," published in 1947, and "American Twelfth Night," published Sister Mary Madeleva, C.S.C. in 1955. Sister Madelva is the author of 16 books, most of them poetry. Among journals which have published her articles and poetry are "America," "Sign," Commonweal," "American Mercury," "New York Times." Saturday Review of Literature," "Thought," and "The Catholic Digest." More than 1,200 persons are expected to attend the black-tie affair.
